Dwelling In The Secret Place

He that dwell in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. That’s our memory scripture. (Psalms 91:1)

From the scripture, we can see that anyone who is intending to dwell in the secret place must also abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

The first question to ask is, what is the secret place?

Secret place simply means a place where hidden things are kept. A knowledge that is hidden and intended to be kept hidden. God says when you dwell in my secret places, that means you will also abide under His shadow, no evil things shall hurt you by any means.

He says in the book of Isaiah 45:3 “And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places that thou may know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel”

Look at the meticulousness of the package that He has for us, if only we can dwell in that secret place. He says, He will give you treasures of darkness. That means it's only God that has it in His possession. For every good and perfect gift is from the Lord. Yours is to allow what He has installed for you to come to pass in your life.

Another thing from the secret place is that, from that book of Isaiah 45:3, says He will give you hidden riches of secret places, that you Will know that He’s the God of Israel. For He has called us from darkness unto His marvellous light and to show forth His glory.

How to assess the secret place

  • The first thing is to do away with your sins. For sake your sin and come back to thy Lord. Jesus is the only way, for there is no other way that leads to eternity except through Jesus Christ. Accept Him into your life and take Him as your Lord and personal saviour.

  • Exodus 25 gives account and pre-requisite of what is required from Israelite to see God. Verse 8 says And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. That means you must set an altar of prayer, which is your heart, your heart must be aligned with God for Him to dwell.

Reading that Exodus 25:22, it says “And there I will meet thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel”.

From this verse we can see that our God is Omnipresent but He does not meet with us in any time, we must create an atmosphere for Him to come into our dear life. That verse says from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that is where I can meet you and commune with you. What you have to do is to locate those places in your life so that He can meet you and commune with you which is also the secret place. Before we can assess it, we must find the location in our life.

  • Psalms 24 also give account of who can dwell in the secret place of the Lord. Verse 3 says “Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who shall stand in His holy place?” The response was in verse 4-5 “He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity nor sworn deceitfully.” Verse 5 says “He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation”. That is to say, to dwell in the secret place, you must have a clean hand and a pure heart and that is when there's no sin in you.

If you read the book of Romans 8:1 it says “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit” verse 2 says “For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of Sin and Death”

From this verse, if we don’t condemn ourselves, it's very easy to serve and please God. Get me right, we cannot continue in sin and say grace may abide, God forbid. Don’t go back into your sins, that is when you can see God and He will surely accept you through Christ Jesus and that is when you can abide in the secret place of the most High God and abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

The grace to keep you close to the LORD JESUS CHRIST God in His infinite mercy will give you. (AMEN)

Remain blessed!
